Anderson M. Gansner’s practice consists of a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including products liability, securities litigation, personal injury, and professional malpractice. Mr. Gansner is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Colorado, and Illinois, and admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Eastern District of Wisconsin, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
An experienced appellate advocate, Mr. Gansner formerly worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the appeals division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. In this position, Mr. Gansner won multiple appeals in the Illinois Supreme and Appellate Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, represented Illinois in post-trial litigation in Illinois’s state and federal trial courts, and composed pleadings and briefs in cases before the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Gansner also received the National Association of Attorneys General’s Best Brief Award, given each term in recognition of the best state-authored Supreme Court briefs.
Prior to joining Gass Weber Mullins, Mr. Gansner served as a law clerk for two years to the Hon. James T. Moody of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, and for one year to the Hon. Ronald Lee Gilman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Gansner received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College and his law degree cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law. While in law school, he served on the board of the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology, competed in the Julius H. Miner Moot Court competition, and interned for the Bluhm Legal Clinic, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Hon. Ronald A. Guzman and the Hon. Joan Humphrey Lefkow of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. A Wisconsin native and a former Los Angeles public school teacher, Mr. Gansner currently serves on the board of the Menasha Corporation Foundation.
