J. Ric Gass is one of the five founding members of Gass Weber Mullins.
Mr. Gass has been elected to the rank of Diplomat in the American Board of Trial Advocates and has been elected as a Fellow in both the
American
College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. He has also been elected to membership in the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel and is a member of the Defense Research Institute. He is a past President of both the Federation and Lawyers For Civil Justice.
Mr. Gass is an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, was the Wisconsin State Chairman for the Defense Research Institute from 1985-1993, and was a member of the Board of Governors for the Wisconsin Health Care Liability Insurance Plan from 1984-1986. He is listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the United States, The Best Lawyers in America
(for over a decade) and Leading American Attorneys. He has also been selected as a Master of The Bench in the American Inns of Court. He is a board certified (Civil) Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and holds the rank of Senior Counsel in The American College of Barristers. In 2005, he was recognized by his peers as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer, and has been selected in 2006 as one of the Best of the U.S.'s list of "Best Class" service providers in the United States.
Mr. Gass has a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with a major in Chemistry and minors in Education and Mathematics. His J.D. degree is from

School, cum laude, 1970. He is a member of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin and American Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in
Wisconsin, The Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has also been an adjunct Associate Professor of Law at
Marquette
University
Law
School, lecturing from 1977 to 1988 in Trial Practice, Basic and Advanced Evidence.
He serves as both national trial and supervising counsel for a number of insurers and self-insured corporations. His specialty areas include catastrophic injuries, trucking, products liability, and bad faith. His practice is nationwide with cases pending from Miami to
Hawaii . He also accepts assignments to provide expert testimony.
